LED lights are not worth the additional money

This was a great enclosure for our chameleon, until the LED light strip started to go bad a few months ago. It still functions otherwise, but now we are wishing we had not paid so much more for a feature that went bad after only 5 months.

Needs support

The cage is easy to assemble, but there are a lot of drawbacks to this cage. First, and foremost, this cage is NOT designed for "climbers" as the screen is nylon and very weak. It will not hold much. To install wire type vines is very cumbersome. I ended up drilling small holes in the side support to insert the wire for the vines. Furthermore, ZooMeds would do a lot better if they sold a solid background for this cage. Or, supply a "blank" panel other than screen. In my opinion, if the screen were 1/4" wire mesh, this cage would be the TOP of its class. I am now going to cut a 1/16" wood panel the size of the back panel and somehow secure it to the cage. I will make the wood panel look like a tree and may be even add a few branches to this. So, I was hoping to have a lizard home in 30 minutes or less, but now it looks like it will be a 3 week adventure! Kind of disappointing...

Great packaging and delivered on time.

This reptibreeze LED deluxe XL cage was packaged and delivered in great shape. You really don’t realize how big this cage is until you have it put together. I’m definitely satisfied with this product.

Works great for a Panther Chameleon

Very easy to assemble if you follow the instructions. I recommend a cordless driver/screwgun to speed the process but a Phillips screwdriver is really all you need to assemble it. Once assembled, it's a sturdy cage. In case you're wondering; the top is screen, not solid. The LED lights are built into the perimeter of the frame of the top. So, yes, you can put a heat lamp on top as it's screen, not a solid piece of plastic. The description doesn't say it, but this comes with the tray for the bottom. I thought it didn't and bought the 24" tray and now I have two. Our Panther Chameleon loves her cage. If this is your first screen cage (it was ours) note that when you mist, water will go through the screen. We have the left side covered with a clear plastic sheet.

Design could be tweeked.

Early into the assembly, I discovered that the person that labeled the panels had had a bad day. Fortunately the holes are all predrilled and using the door hinges and clasps so after the initial set back, assembly went quickly. Its a nice cage LEDs are a nice touch but do not illuminate enough to be worth the extra expense. Just got it set up but not yet occupied so can not rate "Easy to Clean". A cross bar on the top, side and back panels would strengthen the panels and allow for items plants, branches feeders etc. to be easily attached without the need to poke holes in the screening material. The door opens outward from left to right. The ability to reverse the opening direction would be a simple modification in the design but a substantial benefit to the buyer as it would open allow for placing the completed set up in an area where one direction wouldn't work but the other would. It would also offer additional landscaping and equipment placement choices/opportunities.
