Zoo Med's linear fluorescent UVB lamps are made of the finest UVB transmitting quartz glass from Germany, with beneficial UVB emissions lasting a full twelve months! The UVB emissions from these lamps can help to prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease in captive reptiles, birds, and other animals.
In addition to UVB, Zoo Med's ReptiSun lamps also emit beneficial UVA wavelengths which stimulate feeding, reproduction, and natural behavior patterns in reptiles, amphibians, and birds. This Reptisun T5 HO 5.0 UVB bulb emits UVA (30%), UVB (5%) and full spectrum visible light, and are used and recommended by zoos, veterinarians and top reptile professionals worldwide. Use only in lighting fixtures rated for T5 HO (High Output) lamps.
Measuring just 5/8" in diameter, this lamp doesn't take up valuable space, but is still twice as strong as standard 5.0 UVB bulbs. Ideal for large habitats, these lamps emit beneficial UVB light up to 22" from the surface of the bulb.
This lamp provides UVB, UVA & Visible light for your reptile:
UVB: Reptiles need UVB for vitamin D production and calcium metabolism. Without UVB, reptiles can develop Metabolic Bone Disease in 6 months or less. This lamp, along with proper temperatures, will enable your reptiles to make vitamin D and process calcium from their diet.
UVA: Reptiles and amphibians can see things that humans can't. UVA is part of the rainbow of colors that reptiles can see. UVA helps to increase activity levels, appetite, and reproductive behaviors. Without UVA, they are color blind!
Lamp Distance: Refer to the back of your lamp's box for optimal UVB emit distance (15W - up to 30"). Glass and plastic filter out UVB; there should be no glass or plastic between the lamp and your reptile. Fine mesh blocks up to 50% of light and UVB. This should be taken into consideration when determining lamp distance. The T5 ReptiSun HO is designed for most reptiles housed in terrariums that are 18" to 30" tall. Always have lamp at least 6" away from your animal. The optimal distance from T5 HO lamps to the animal is 18-36", depending on the lamp.
When To Replace Your Lamp: This lamp will provide your animals with beneficial UVB for a period of up to 12 months when used 10 to 12 hours per day. Record date of first use of lamp and replace after 12 months.

Most orders will ship for a flat fee of $9.99 for Standard (4-8 business days from date of shipment), which means you can load up your cart and shipping will only be $9.99 to ship the whole thing!

Note: Shipping is typically via FedEx, but USPS services may be utilized. Standard shipping typically uses FedEx SmartPost which may handoff to the USPS for final delivery.
PRE-SHIPMENT TIME
Processing time can vary depending on the time of year, but most orders ship after 1-2 business days (M-F). Anything ordered around major holidays will likely experience demand-delays that may add 3-4 days to your processing time before your items ships. This is unavoidable due simply to a higher-than-usual demand around those times.
